Christophe Lemaire collaborates with BEANPOLE for Autumn/Winter 12, creating Novö, a collection inspired by the designer’s love of European New Wave, NOVÖ, music movement of the Eighties and is a modern reworking of the brand’s identity. The word “Novö” was invented by French rock critic and writer Yves Adrien in 1978 in his cult novel: “NOVO-VISION”. He anticipated the revolution of machines driven avant-garde bands like Kraftwerk, Suicide, and Cabaret Voltaire. The Novö collection is designed around this minimal, clean, urban and somewhat cold aesthetic, more than ever cool and full of meaning in 2012.

BEANPOLE is one of Korea’s most well-known traditional casual apparel brands, launched as a menswear line in 1989 by Samsung.  A women’s wear line was introduced in 2001, and soon followed by Kids, Golf, Jeans and Accessories collections.

Starting his fashion career at Yves Saint Laurent and Thierry Mugler, Christophe Lemaire then moved to Christian Lacroix. In 2000, Lemaire joined Lacoste as Artistic Director and helped to restore the label’s original identity. Twice winner of the ANDAM Prize, he launched his own label in 1991 and added men’s ready-to-wear to the women’s collection four years later with the launch of an intimate boutique in 2006 in Paris.
