Spring Awakening…
There has always been something so magical about waking up early in the morning, having the sunlight beam down onto you face, crisp cool air blowing over, as you snuggle up in your blankets. I sat like this for about two hours this morning, thinking about how I don’t really get to enjoy mornings that much, but feel that I’m wasting away with them, waking up at 9:00am or later, and never really getting to enjoy the silence that is the morning. I know this sounds all hippy and shit, but there is something so refreshing about the “birth” of the sun as it hits the sky and pours over the land. I guess having surgery this past week and getting little to no sleep, I’ve gotten to see these mornings again, waking up at 5:00am to see the light hit my room like never before.
It was like I was in a totally different world. Things were experienced in a totally different way, and for once I was happy to be awake this early. I listened to the birds outside chirp and bustle to feeding their young. I peered and looked out my window and down at my garden. I thought about the crops that will soon come from all this hearty rain, but also being able to sit on my lawn in the coming weeks and enjoy the spray of sun over my body. I feel like all these moments are the feelings when our soppy, sorrowful, dreary winter days actually turn into spring. To feel the energy that is within us to emerge again, and brighten up our days. It’s almost like we get to restart ourselves again. I do enjoy these feelings, and it always inspires me to find new and exciting music. These new and exciting tunes get to take over all the silence.
I feel these past few months have been very dark and dreary, both mentally and physically. Maybe the summer of 2012 will prove to be something positive here in Boston. With that I want to excite you with some must listen to music. I know I led a long winded statement from above, but whatever, we all feel it, and well, let time be on our side…
