James Bridle: We Fell in Love in a Coded Place
Last night I watched an excellent lecture (twice! first watched, then went to bed last night listening just to the audio) by London artist James Bridle. The, title as he explains, does have a reference to Rhianna, even though he messed up the wording a little bit. Here he talks about fascinating ideas of coded spaces, bot intimacy, gay cyber cruising, and the German made up word: Straßeblickfernweh or “street view wanderlust”. He also explains his “ship a drift” project. I was completely entranced by this lecture and I highly recommend it. This guy has easily made my “artists to keep a watch on” list.
He also has a Tumblr, which I had no idea I had been following for almost a couple of months now!
