Yesterday evening French designer Romain Kremer and Thierry Mugler creative director resurrected the Mugler Men with a strong and elegant, somewhat darker image during their presentation of Autumn Winter 2012-2013 collection at Paris Fashion Week. The collection started with 2 models coming out with cameras (the videos will be available later) and going on with models you would expect to appear in movies like Blade Runner, the Matrix and other sci-fi flicks painting a very dark future for human kind. Quite the comment on the world financial crisis situation and quite an epic collection presented with a soundtrack specially commissioned by Mugler from Azealia Banks.

Colors are dark reds and navies as well as smoother grey and blacks. Silhouettes are strong and geometric, however there’s a romantic note in the form of patterns creating a nostalgic mood with patterned suits and coats.

The fashion press has been ambivalent in its reaction to new Mugler, many remember the glory days of Monsieur Thierry Mugler however this new chapter of the brand now owned by Clarins doesn’t reserve less attention.
