Prada Autumn Winter 2012 2013
Watching the Prada Autumn Winter 2012 2013 runway show doesn’t give me the feeling of just watching expressionless models walk down an isle. Miuccia Prada brings out an onslaught of high profile actors in her stunning new menswear line including the likes of Adrien Brody, Gary Oldman, Jamie Bell and Emile Hirsch. After watching the show, didn’t you get the feeling like you’re watching the final minutes of a movie where everything comes in place and culminates in this amazing show of style, character and talent? “We didn’t think they would all say yes”, Miuccia said of the nine guest stars in her show.
The models and superstars (styled by the talented i-D contributor Olivier Rizzo) wore oversized regal coats at changing-guard length in camels, navies, reds and blacks, complete with badges (the parody of power) and contrasted with a few sterile whites in shirt and short combinations. Some few coats were layered on top of each other, and eventually came out in a few more colourful shades, such as red and mustard yellow, some of them pinstriped. Coats soon gave way to suit jackets, many of them double-breasted. Top model Clement Chabernaud was showing off white boxer-like shorts underneath his coat giving the show a rather surreal feeling.
