Lorenzo Durantini
Lorenzo Durantini embraces old hardware and uses it to create impressive pieces of art. His works 2,216 VHS Tapes and 445,368 meters use old VHS and audio tapes to build towers, flood rooms with meters of tape or simply make a comment on the fast pace of the digital era we live in. In other words, he simply turns what everybody with an iPod would define as trash, into art.
Lorenzo studied art in the University of Westminster and then upgraded to Master of Arts in the Royal College of Arts. In 2012 he curates Ristruttura (renovation) at ProjectB Gallery, Milan, Italy. Open January 25 – March 30 2012.
