Entropy Parade by Brian Kenny and Slava Mogutin
Entropy is disorder; entropy is randomness; entropy is what’s lost in translation; entropy is the inevitable and constant deterioration of society. Reflection of the latter can be found in SUPERM‘s collaborative portfolio called Entropy Parade. Slava Moguitn and Brian Kenny created the series of distorted images / multilayer drawings for the 13th anniversary issue of FLAUNT magazine.
After I got lost in definitions, Brian described how Slava and he came up with the project and how they chose the title:
I liked this term because it involves the idea of increasing chaos or disorder (which in theormodymnamics is expressed as lost heat—think out of control atoms flying around getting hotter). SO an ‘entropy parade’ is like a parade that just degenerates into more and more chaos. I feel like this idea goes well with the series because its a parade of beautiful boys in ever more ridiculous outfits (no pants, thongs, and crazy props on their heads) with chaotic drawings and collages that further degenerate any sense of order into a more chaotic (and thus exciting) vision.
