Nick Ray McCann has visited India recently. Or that’s at least what his last blog post says. But let’s forget about curry for a second (although I love it) and focus on the art of this young (23) photographer and multimedia talent. Nick Ray McCann was born in 1987 in Chicago, IL, but later moved to Baltimore, MD, where he grew up listening to Howlin’ Wolf, fixing guitars, and staying late at the high school darkroom (this is where they process PHOTOS not DICKS).

In 2006 Nick attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, graduating in 2010 with degrees in Visual and Interactive Communications and American History. In 2008 Nick also attended the Eddie Adams Workshop Barnstorm XXI.

His work has been recognized by NFAAScholastic Art & Writing AwardsLinehan Artist ScholarsNikon.net, the Syracuse Kodak Scholarship, the 63rd Annual College Photographer of the Year CompetitionVICE Magazine, and the Hearst Journalism Awards.

Nick now lives and works as an editorial and commercial photographer and multimedia producer (check out his vimeo) in New York City and Connecticut.
